Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eye care and assisting in ophthalmic procedures.
Duties:
- Conduct preliminary patient screenings including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and other vision tests.
- Assist ophthalmologists in patient examinations and minor surgical procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and OCT imaging.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories and vital signs.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medical billing processes.
- Educate patients on eye care procedures, medications, and post-operative care.
- Utilize electronic health record systems like Epic for documentation purposes.
Skills:
- Proficiency in ophthalmic equipment operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to the eye.
- Familiarity with optical procedures and lensometry.
- Experience with medical office procedures including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and record patient information.
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction and education.
- Previous sales experience in optical products is a plus.
