Physician - Pediatric Cardiology jobs in Iowa
Physician - Pediatric Cardiology detects and treats heart and blood vessel disease in infants, children, and teenagers. Conducts physical exams, which may include an X-ray, electrocardiogram, Doppler echocardiography, exercise testing, or blood tests. Being a Physician - Pediatric Cardiology detects abnormalities, plans treatment, and refers critical patients to a cardiac surgeon. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Pediatric Cardiology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a Staff Nurse to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. This RN will support the general cardiology division both in the clinic and office environment. This RN will complete tasks/education completed now by providers during clinic (education, med req, follow up orders and AVS) and will triage cardiology phone calls, In-baskets and my-charts as they come in.
Percent of Time: 60%
Schedule: Flexible hours, Day shift, Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts between 0730-1700
Location: John Pappajohn Pavilion (JPP)
Rotations: No holidays, no weekends, no call
Salary: $60,000 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate *This does not include differentials. Salary will vary based on years of experience and percent of effort.*Benefits Highlights:- Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa

Education Required
- An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
Experience Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions
- General computer skills are required
- Ability to communicate complicated information to children and their parents
- Proven ability to problem solve
- Proven ability to integrate into a team
- 1 years of nursing experience required
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Desirable Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired
- If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable
- 1 year of pediatric nursing experience desired
- 1 year of cardiology nursing experience desired
- Ambulatory Experience is desired
- PALS
