Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Responsibilities:

    • Lead and supervise a team of dedicated merchandisers during peak season, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and consistent delivery of exceptional customer service.
    • Develop and implement daily action plans, coordinating tasks and assignments to ensure the efficient and effective servicing of live nursery products.
    • Act as a liaison between store personnel and corporate management, fostering open communication and facilitating the flow of information to ensure operational objectives are met.
    • Unload, move, and consolidate live plants, ensuring proper care and handling techniques are followed to maintain the quality and freshness of our products.
    • Collaborate with the merchandising team to set up captivating displays that showcase the beauty and variety of our live nursery offerings.
    • Monitor inventory levels, reporting discrepancies and working closely with inventory control to maintain accurate stock levels.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for flowers, plants, and gardening, with a keen eye for visual merchandising.
    • Previous experience in a leadership role, preferably in a retail or garden center environment.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Knowledge of nursery product care and maintenance is desirable.
