Coaching and/or playing experience is expected. However, we're looking more for your quality as a person, your passion for the game, desire to develop as a coach, love for helping and giving back to others, as well as a growth-mindset. Our coaching positions are great for former players who are looking to get into coaching or looking for side coaching work. In our 3 years as an organization, a handful of our coaches have go onto college coaching jobs or have received interviews for college coaching jobs. Many of our coaches are looking to continue their coaching career, so we work to find them jobs at higher levels, such as in the college game if they desire.
Our coaching pathway can be found at (www.playerproject.org/coachjobdescription). We will pay for your coaching education along your path with us.
All our coaches are paid $40/hr if you are not licensed or have lower than a U.S. Soccer "D" License.
A coach with a "D" License or higher will be paid $50/hr.
In addition to our in-house coaching education and paying for U.S. based coaching education, we provide all our coaches with equipment to run proper team, small group, and individual sessions (e.g. balls, cones, pop-up goals, pinnies, etc.)
Upon hiring, you must provide up to date of the following background checks:
1.) PA Criminal Background Check
2.) PA Child Abuse Clearance
3.) FBI Fingerprinting & History Report
We will pay for the costs to complete your 3 background checks.
A benefit to working as a coach with us is the ability to coach teams, develop quality relationships with the players, head coaches, and parents, but you do not have a commitment to games and travel on the weekend.
We will also promote you on our website for Individual trainings around your schedule and at a location that is convenient for you.
We also offer free clinics and camps through our Foundation to children in Philadelphia and Chester, PA, which will also be an opportunity for you to coach and give back to others. (https://www.playerproject.org/foundation)
