Polysomnographic Technician under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Being a Polysomnographic Technician typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. • The Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis and associated interventions under the supervision of the Director. • The technician is responsible for providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. • The role gathers and analyzes patient information, prepares the patient and environment for testing, maintains a safe and effective testing environment and conducts sleep disorder related testing according to defined practice standards. • The Polysomnographic Technician is expected to perform duties and responsibilities in a manner adhering to policies and procedures set forth by the hospital and department and in accordance with the hospital mission and values.
Required:• RPSGT, RRT, CRTT, or experience in an allied health area.• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.
Desired:• Prior experience in a sleep lab.
