POSITION PURPOSE
Provide a wide range of functions including member support services and project management as directed to ensure that UAMPS is providing unparalleled services to its membership. Assist in the organization and execution of Company functions and ensures effective communication to all departments and outside entities. Provide assistance with public relation activities of the Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Assist in educating members and governing boards on all the services UAMPS is providing to the members and identify potential new services to better serve the membership, especially educating the membership on existing and new development projects.
a. Attend meetings with the negotiation teams for the procurement of new projects. Maintain related records, schedules, meeting notes, and project information.
b. Assist with expediting project activities, and support in meeting schedules and deadlines.
c. Stay informed of industry trends that may affect UAMPS or its members.
d. Manage and complete special projects as assigned.
2. Assist in the effective planning and performance of corporate functions.
a. Provide preparatory and onsite support of corporate functions such as member conference, annual meeting, board retreats, etc.
b. Ensure all events promote a professional and positive image of the company.
3. Assist in member power pool transactions.
a. Assist in the coordination and execution of pooling transactions, pooling appendices, and planned pool purchases and sales.
b. Assist in educating and communicating energy market trends with the members.
c. Coordinate this work with the Manager of Power Metrics.
4. Assist in the planning, development and implementation of effective public relation.
a. Participate in the development and implementation of public relations goals, objectives and policies as assigned.
b. Assist with the development and coordination of the annual report, news releases, feature articles and other public publications.
c. Coordinate this work with the Managing Director of Government Affairs and the Communication Specialists as well as the UAMPS management team.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Public relations goals are appropriate and effective, and support Company’s business plan.
2. Effective communication and coordination exist with Managing Director of Corporate and Member Relations.
3. All records are current, accurate, and organized.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associate degree in business, management, communications, or related field.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of customer support functions, public relations and administrative. Knowledge of document formats, spreadsheets, business communications, and all related computer software applications. Preferred knowledge of the electric power industry or a related field to understand and be able to effectively communicate complex concepts to the UAMPS members, UAMPS staff, and other external stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five or more years of professional related experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

be willing to travel somewhat frequently (3 times/month) to member communities that are located primarily in Utah but also throughout the intermountain west.
