Precision Grinder operates precision grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments and grinding machines for grinding angles, contours, lines, and spheres on to surfaces. Being a Precision Grinder requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Precision Grinder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. This requires basic print reading competencies, an intermediate understanding of different deburr media uses, as well as an intermediate understanding and familiarity with customer specifications such as BAC5700.
Bench Grinder / Deburr Level 2 operators also demonstrate and ability to use a number of inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, etc..
Reporting Relationships :
The Bench Grinder / Deburr Level 2 will report to the Operations Supervisor.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
Basic & Intermediate Deburr Tasks Break edges and blend to surface finish requirement on Aluminum and / or Titanium productsAbility to blend mismatches and chatter areas down to blueprint requirement.
Basic knowledge of inspection tools, ability to check thicknesses as required.
