1.0 SUMMARY

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Precision Grinder.

The Precision Grinder completes a basic set up on manual machines, minor adjustments and operate CNC, O/D, ID, or surface grinders to perform a series of grinding operations on components used for the manufacture of precision mechanical components.

2.0 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

3.0 TRAVEL

This position does not include travel.

4.0 SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

· Operate surface grinders to grind to exact precision tolerances using various measuring tools to ensure accuracy of part.

· Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

· Work from blueprints, process sheets, tooling instructions, and standard charts to identify component/manufacturing specifications.

· Ability to Operate Manual ID, OD, and Surface Grinders.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

· Moderate physical demand required to insert tooling, set up work centers, inspect work pieces, and make machine adjustments, which is equivalent to continuously lifting or moving light weight material.

5.0 EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Requires a high school diploma or GED.

· Previous experience and proficiency in operating precision grinding machines.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Precision Grinder

· Knowledge of grinding techniques, tools, and machinery

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the production area is usually loud.

Pay: $35.00 - $37.00 per year
