Privacy Director directs and develops the organization's privacy strategy, including policies, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures all business and data management processes reflect privacy requirements and comply with laws and regulations. Being a Privacy Director incorporates regulatory changes into the organization's processes. Plans and directs privacy training programs and communications. Additionally, Privacy Director ensures that compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation are effective. Leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Privacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Privacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join the team.

    Job Summary

    The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the operations of the organization’s accounting processes. This position requires great attention to detail, flexibility, and thoughtful communication.

    Job Responsibilities

    • General Accounting efforts; associated tasks include maintenance of shared mailboxes, reporting, processing of refunds, maintenance of store credits, check deposits, maintenance of Accounting-related procedures ensuring all procedures are up-to-date with current practices, processing of entries in the financial system related to revenue recognition and processing of payments.
    • Specific additional duties will be assigned but may include:
      • Accounts Receivable and Collections efforts; associated tasks include preparing and sending invoices, interacting with customers and members to resolve outstanding invoices, sending invoice reminders, and accurately applying payments.
      • Accounts Payable efforts; associated tasks include receiving and reviewing invoices, obtaining necessary approvals, vendor setup, and accurate reporting.
    • Obtain information necessary to resolve unusual problems by communicating with internal and external individuals to obtain or supply information, while employing customer service excellence and consistency.
    Additional Duties

    • Perform month-end accounting duties that contribute to accurate financial statements.
    • Perform other operations such as producing reports, answering general accounting inquiries, data entry, filing, research and documentation.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Skills And Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Familiarity with QuickBooks a plus
