Experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal

You will be in a small law firm with a 60 year heritage assisting two experienced attorneys. Experience in the areas of Litigation, Corporate, Estate Planning and Tax law and Trial practice.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing general administrative and clerical support to two attorneys;
• Assisting in drafting, proofreading, and editing correspondences, documents, and pleadings from dictation and/or handwritten or typed text;
• Filing pleadings and documents with the court system;
• Maintaining case files and records;
• Calendaring and scheduling of appointments, hearings, depositions; and
• Assisting in tracking and entry of attorneys’ billable time.

Skills and Abilities:

• General computer literacy
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Familiarity with time tracking and billing software
• Transcription from dictation and/or handwritten or typed text
• Familiarity with the law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time and under deadlines
• Ability to communicate professionally and work with others.
• Hard worker

Education:

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• 5 years as a legal secretary, assistant, or paralegal experience in civil litigation, corporate and estate planning required.
