Drives continuous improvement in process design, cost savings, quality, and resource utilization. Being a Process Engineering Director leads engineering projects, incorporates newest technologies, resolves engineering problems, approves process designs. Requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Additionally, Process Engineering Director typically reports to top management. The Process Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Process Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties:- Lead Splice Equipment Qualification efforts.
- Work closely with Splice Technicians and area SMAs on machine failures, establishing / fostering a supporting culture.
- Conducting Preventative Maintenance / Repair activities on Splice and support equipment (e.g., Proof Testers, Cleavers, etc.).
- Establish and evaluate existing Splice Equipment Calibration & Maintenance Procedures.
- Two-year Technical Degree or equivalent.
- Experience with Repairing Fujikura Fiber Optic Splice Equipment preferred.
- Ability to read schematic and assembly drawings.
- Fiber Optic Handling and Splicing Experience Preferred.
- Fiber Optic experience is preferred.
- Experience with optical test equipment such as mainframes, light sources, interfaces and integrating spheres.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) writing instructions and reports. Additional computer skills with Project, PowerPoint, Access, and Oracle would be a plus.
- Ability to Perform Maintenance processes and ability to re-engineer those processes to increase throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance quality.
- Ability to problem solve, execute, deliver on commitments, and drive tasks to on time completion.
- Ability to energize, develop and build relationships with co-workers and cross-functional team members.
- Ability and willingness to engage with the manufacturing floor and associated personnel to solve problems and ensure Splice equipment is working as intended within work centers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:- Wear the proper personal protective equipment for each task, including, but not limited to, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, dust mask, etc.
- Climb up and down from equipment; climb up and down a ladder and work at heights up to 40 feet.
- Maintain proper balance while working at elevated level.
- Regularly lift and/or move 40 pounds. Anything heavier than 40 pounds requires additional assistance.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools, and controls.
- Ability to stand, walk, crawl, and climb stairs regularly.
- Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel or crouch frequently.
- Ability to talk and/or hear frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work both indoors (regularly) and outdoors (occasionally) in all elements.
