Process Engineering Manager manages a team responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, or plants. Responsible for operational excellence via efficient plant design. Being a Process Engineering Manager ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production. Manages all engineering projects and resolves engineering problems. Additionally, Process Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Process Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Amazon Robotics (AR) Operations organization manufactures high-quality robotics and gets the right materials to the right place at the right time to enable our automated solutions. The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team in the development of strategic, large scale projects for the Robotics manufacturing business. Support manufacturing processes, equipment and systems. Optimize complex processes, systems, or organizations. Work with Supply Chain, Engineering, Facilities and Operations teams. Regularly communicate with senior management on status, risks and change control. Coordinate between various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. Work with business and technology teams to define requirements and high level process/systems solutions. Prioritize high impact projects, obtain approval from relevant functional leaders, and schedule resources. Responsibilities: · Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion · Coach and mentor a team that owns Process development and optimization for new products. · Implement technology and tool improvements to impact Safety, Quality, and Cost targets. · Perform critical process reviews including Risk and Hazard assessments. · Development and Validation of processes specific to NPI programs. · Write business and operational planning documents for capital equipment and plant infrastructure. - Ability to travel (~10%) to support projects We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Westborough, MA, USA
- MBA or advanced Engineering degree preferred.
- Uses a analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in manufacturing / process improvement (eg. Lean-Six Sigma).
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, and Tool / Equipment programming.
- Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings.
- Willing to “roll up sleeves and do what needs to get done” to consistently deliver results.
- Experience with Process Optimization Tools including Programming, Mapping, Simulation or various algorithms.
