    Job Description:

    We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of shipping and receiving, maintain inventory of consumable supplies, and assist with general shop duties. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of materials, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Shipping:
    • Prepare and process shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
    • Coordinate with carriers and schedule pick-ups.
    • Ensure all shipments are accurate and meet customer requirements.
    • Maintain records of shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
    • Receiving:
    • Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
    • Unload and unpack materials, ensuring they are in good condition.
    • Update inventory records and report discrepancies or damages.
    • Distribute received items to the appropriate departments or storage areas.
    • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory of consumable supplies, including tracking usage and reordering as needed.
    • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.
    • Organize and store materials in a systematic and accessible manner.
    • General Shop Duties:
    • Assist with general shop maintenance and organization.
    • Support production teams with material handling and movement.
    • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as additional education or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, is a plus.
    • Proven experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • Familiarity with inventory management systems and practices.
    • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
