Product Development Manager manages the staff, resources, and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Incorporates research and concept development projects and capabilities with market analysis, industry intelligence, and customer monitoring to support product roadmaps and innovate new products, enhancements, and redesigns. Being a Product Development Manager coordinates with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization's financial goals. Develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Additionally, Product Development Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Product Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Product Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • The Project Manager will work with talented people across multiple departments to execute on driving throughput of new product development projects. The candidate will be able to understand, prioritize, and manage project scope, cost, time and quality to deliver exceptional results. To be successful in this role, the Project Manager requires a strong mix of organizational, communication skills and project management skills and must drive throughput and delivery of new product development projects.

    Responsibilities:
    • Manage projects in a collaborative environment
    • Structure and organize information and communicate effectively
    • Lead project meetings on a set cadence and ad hoc basis to ensure project throughput
    • Manage project scope, quality, cost and timeline across several projects simultaneously
    • Consistently eliminate project bottlenecks while also diffusing project risks
    • Effectively manage ambiguity and drive to objective decision-making across diverse teams
    • Apply an appropriate sense of urgency in achieving milestones
    • Lead and manage transparent and timely communication around multiple active projects
    • Ensure project success from feasibility through post release support
    • Navigate and nurture collaborative relationships across departments
    • Manage resources accordingly
    • Establish risk assessment and mitigation plans
    • Accountable to the team, understanding impacts for different stakeholders
    • Ability to establish trust and foster team alignment without formal authority
    • Process new information quickly and adjust accordingly
    • Analyze and create processes as needed

    Requirements:
    • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university and/or 5 years of experience in Project Management, Product Management, or a related field
    • Experience in new product development, manufacturing or engineering
    • Strong track record of successfully managing projects
    • Technically minded, with the ability to conceptually grasp and communicate technical information
    • Proven experience in new product development within an R&D environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and Smartsheet
    • Willingness to travel (approximately 10%)

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • PMP or formal Project Management training
    • Advanced degree in a technical discipline (Math, Engineering, Science)
    • Experience in the conveyor industry
