  • Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled Production Controller to join our team. The Production Controller will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely completion of projects.

    Job description:

    We are seeking a hands-on individual whose responsibility will include the smooth flow of work orders through the production floor to ensure on time delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality. You will analyze and prepare documents needed for production. Perform detailed scheduling at work center level to optimize shop efficiency. Conduct data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand. Maintain the production schedule and other reports as required. Follow-up as required with all teams to efficiently time the sequence of documents, materials, and operations to meet production schedules and customer expectation. Interact with lead machinists and lead engineer daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or to fulfill RFIs as requested from Manufacturing, Customer Service and Accounting.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage day-to-day purchasing duties.
    • Manage material in various states of release.
    • Drive cost-saving efforts for the company.
    • Follow Procurement Practices and Procedures when making decisions concerning negotiating, sourcing, and contracting for all goods and services purchased.
    • Compare quotes and align with departmental processes with the intent of achieving the best cost possible for Omikron Engineering.
    • Execute and manage supplier purchase orders to achieve the production build plans and service levels
    • Manage purchasing requirements for product changes and new product introductions
    • Proficiency to analyze quotes to determine the overall best offer for a product/service; including supplier past performance, capability, capacity, and financial stability.
    • Ensure clear communication of expectations and priorities with suppliers
    • Ensure suppliers adhere to Omikron Engineering Quality and compliance standards including supplier selection and part documentation.
    • Maintain supplier and part attributes in the ERP system.
    • Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure inventory accuracy and supplier payment within agreed terms
    • Support the creation and implementation of “best practices”.
    • Review business aspects of requisition and provide advice as subject matter expert.
    • Assist in selecting suppliers that align and comply with ASL/AVL. (Approved Supplier/Vendor list)

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

    • Experience buying machined parts, raw materials.
    • MS Office (including Excel, Word & Outlook)
    • Software operation and data entry skills.
    • Demonstrate strong sense of urgency and prioritization of internal issues.
    • Proven experience working cross functionally and shown ability to influence and communicate across all levels.
    • Strong ability to handle and effectively prioritize multiple competing priorities and requests.

    Desired:

    • ERP/MRP knowledge.
    • Aerospace Industry
    • Experience in Engineering development a plus.
    • Experience in AS9100 environment a plus.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $35.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
