    The Herff Jones Jewelry Operations team, based in Warwick, RI is looking for a Lead Person, Production Control/Scheduling to join our team.

    Reporting to the Master Scheduler/Planner, you will be responsible helping to facilitate and maintain spreadsheets/reports within or between departments/work centers of manufacturing to achieve on-time targets while positioning the production departments to achieve maximum production and scheduling efficiencies.

    • Collaborate closely with the Master Scheduler/Planner to integrate new jobs into department schedules, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of updates on a daily and weekly basis.
    • Generate and maintain a variety of standard and customized reports to support managerial decision-making.
    • Coordinate activities across multiple departments including Staging, Stone Room, G&E Production Control, Expediting, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Purchasing, Data Processing, Final Inspection/Packaging, and Vault Operations.
    • Monitor work in progress to ensure adherence to production timelines, proactively addressing any delays by facilitating movement to downstream departments or work centers as needed.
    • Serve as a key liaison between the Master Scheduler/Planner, Production Manager, Production teams, and Customer Service Representatives, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
    • Participate in weekly schedule meetings to review progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and develop action plans to mitigate delays.
    • Lead the production control function, aligning efforts with inter-departmental schedules and priorities to optimize workflow efficiency.
    • Collaborate with Order Entry and Scheduling Clerks to maintain accurate records and ensure alignment with customer commitments.
    • Compile and maintain a weekly jeopardy report highlighting potential late orders for the Customer Service team's attention.
    • Monitor the Order Book against posted lead times to identify discrepancies and facilitate timely resolution.
    • Oversee the Expedite/Pull-In process and associated approval procedures to meet urgent production needs.
    • Uphold and promote safe work practices in accordance with plant-wide safety goals.
    • Foster positive working relationships between departments to facilitate clear and timely communication, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.

    What You’ll Bring To The Table

    • 2-3 years’ experience in Production Control and/or Scheduling/Planning in addition to meeting the following requirements:
    • Fundamental understanding of MRP processes, shop floor scheduling techniques, and capacity planning.
    • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
    • Proficient computer skills: Sending e-mails, working with word processing and spreadsheet software programs. (Microsoft Word and Excel skills are a plus)
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    • Ability to work well with people having different ethnic, social, or educational backgrounds; understand the cultural differences of different groups.

    Education / Certifications Required – high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred

    Physical Requirements –

    • Ability to walk around the office and through the factory briskly.
    • Finger agility is required for operations of computer keyboard
    • Must be able to endure long periods of sitting.
