Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Northwest Aerospace Technologies ( NAT ), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States.

    Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

    Position Summary : Production Control II is responsible for coordinating, analyzing, informing and recording the flow of material through manufacturing departments and communicating the overall health of the program.

    This position coordinates with all NAT departments to make sure a quality product is delivered on time to the customer.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities :

    • Responsible for the accuracy of the Bill of Material (BOM).
    • Works with the Planning department to ensure the Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) system is generating the proper schedule for production control I.
    • Manages overall project part shortages.
    • Assist with the Planning department which includes creating Bills of Material.
    • Works with Purchasing and Manufacturing exceptions.
    • Works with Engineering for drawing releases and design improvements.
    • Reviews Material Review Board (MRB) and coordinates with the required departments to resolve the issue.
    • Confers with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production.
    • Involved in improving lean product flow.
    • Runs weekly Material Availability Reports (MAR) and records.
    • Informs shipping, store, quality and program management of project details.
    • Coach and mentor the Production Control I employees
    • Other duties assigned by management.

    Job Requirements

    Safran Cabin NAT looks for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.

    Knowledge / Experience

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • The Production Control II shall possess, at a minimum, a High School Education.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment as Production Control, preferably related to aerospace.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
    • Forklift experience and certification, preferred
    • Comfortable working with all levels of an organization.
    • An FAA A&P certificate is desirable but not required.

    Skills / Abilities

    • Ability to communicate well with others, both verbally and in written format
    • Proven ability to troubleshooting / problem solving
    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure
    • Proven ability to manage multiple schedules and deadlines
    • Strong analytical abilities
    • Possess technical aptitude
    • Able to perform basic mathematic calculations
    • Understanding of customer's expectations

    Working Conditions :

    • Primarily office work- approximately 90%
    • Occasional manufacturing work- approximately 10%
    • Protracted hours may be required.

    Physical Requirements :

    • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
    • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for safe conduct on the manufacturing floor and to meet job responsibilities.
