This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a member of the Plant Leadership Team within our facility in Williamsport, Maryland. In this role, you will direct all aspects of the production planning process. You will utilize statistical analysis to develop forecasts, build data models, and ensure manufacturing efforts are aligned to meet customer needs.
We are seeking a data-driven leader capable of directing the flow of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will possess vision and drive with a strong background in data analytics and an ability to lead a team toward accomplishing challenging goals.
What you will be doing
To be successful in the role, you should be prepared to apply your data analytics experience to strategically plan and tactically schedule our manufacturing facility. You will quickly develop proficiency with our ERP system and gain a strong understanding of our manufacturing processes. Your understanding of our customers’ needs will enable you to direct the flow of raw material through the various stages of manufacturing in an optimal manner. As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, you should be prepared to perform the following:
Oversee all aspects of Production Control including coordinating with peer operations leaders, aligning on achievable targets that meet the needs of our customers, creating and reporting on production schedules (supply) and needs (demand), executing against the material requirements plan, and ensuring integrity of ERP system transactions.
Ensure the optimal use of production resources while achieving production targets.
Relentlessly championing opportunities for improvements to forecasts.
Agilely adapt scheduling parameters to work through production constraints.
Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure raw material is controlled and consumed in accordance with business policies and practices.
Establish monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems related to waste, inefficiencies, and machine variation within the production process.
Create and maintain data-driven capacity models designed to provide visibility into potential constraints and support proactively removing limiting factors.
Implement reporting that provides insight into ready to build status, movement of orders through the manufacturing process, and real-time forecasting to estimated completion.
Recommend improvements to manufacturing technology and processes.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices.
Consolidate, quantify, and analyze data to inform our business strategy.
Develop a deep understanding of the systems that drive our business.
Leverage technology to manage day-to-day project-specific tasks and developments.
Manage the integration of cross-functional requirements.
Present at leadership meetings and other forums.
Deploy continuous improvement problem solving tools like LEAN and Six Sigma to solve a variety of operational challenges.
