JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager is involved in executing various processes, programs and policies within the Human Resources department. This role includes the development and implementation of personnel policies, programs, and services for Suidae companies and its managed farm clients. Including, but not limited to; recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, safety, employment practices and procedures and employee relations.
The Human Resources Manager is supervised by the Director of Production and works from policies and general objectives approved by the management of Suidae Health & Production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and will be shared with the human resources manager in the Morris location.
•Supports the recruitment process including job postings, pre-screening of new applicants, interviewing, andonboarding of all employees including managed farm employees. Works with managers and supervisors tounderstand skills and competencies needed throughout the hiring process.
•Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources,talent management and employment law for all locations.
•Recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures. Aids in preparing and maintaining employee handbooks and documentation that comply with the employment regulations for the locations the personnel are working in.
•Manages employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions and grievances that arise.
Maintains personnel files that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
•Provides training to management staff on interviewing, hiring, orientation, disciplinary actions and on givingperformance evaluations to their employees.
•Coordinates the personnel benefits programs, workers compensation program, and safety-training program.
•Collaborates with management staff in all employee relations issues and on optimizing employee developmentand retention rates.
•Collaborates with management staff to revise and update job descriptions as needed.
•Provides timely farm staffing levels, recruitment status and turnover rate reports to management staff.
•Attends scheduled Suidae management meetings and suggests ways for improving human resources activities.
•Helps to find housing for TN Visa workers.
•Occasional travel throughout Suidae company management services area, including occasional overnight stays
•Regular use of telephone, computer, and Outlook calendar
•Ensures consistent processes and procedures are being followed to maintain compliance and consistency regarding topics such as disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, attendance, etc.
DUITIES SPECIFIC TO HUMAN RESOURCES BASED IN ALGONA
•Perform payroll, time card, bonus, and commission functions for Suidae and managed farms.
•Manages Suidae’s social media presence including maintaining the Suidae website and Facebook page viaregular posts and updates.
•Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
•Manage employee engagement activities including service awards, birthday cards, employee appreciation, etc.
•Manage’s workmans compensation policies and maintains relationship with agent to ensure rates arecompetitive. Manages all claims as they arise.
•Coordinates annual meetings with employment attorneys and workman’s compensation agents to ensure policies and processes are in place to comply with all employment laws and regulations in states where Suidae operates.
PRIMARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE include the following:
•Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or at least 2years’ of equivalent human resources experience.
•Bilingual in verbal and written communication in English and Spanish preferred but not required.

• Proficient in using Outlook, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks software systems
