Position: Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering department in executing process engineering projects adhering to industry best practices.
- Directly manage and oversee a team of engineers, guiding them in various engineering functions including plant design upgrades, root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital project management.
- Support and uphold all company policies, goals, and objectives while representing the organization professionally and knowledgeably.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide leadership by setting expectations, offering fast feedback, and holding team members accountable.
- Drive continuous improvement and reengineer systems as needed to optimize behaviors.
- Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic initiatives.
- Develop detailed capital project plans and manage project budgets, communicating any deviations to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
- Coordinate multiple projects to ensure safety, efficiency, timeliness, and adherence to budget.
- Implement profitability improvement projects aligned with organizational goals.
- Foster a proactive culture and promote knowledge sharing and problem-solving at all levels.
- Conduct root cause analysis and facilitate effective communication between departments.
- Collaborate closely with the operations department to integrate maintenance and capital projects effectively.
- Ensure vendors and contractors meet required qualifications to maintain high-quality production standards.
- Drive effective change through the Management of Change (MOC) process and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Regularly communicate departmental results to the CTO and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
- 8 years of operations experience in large-scale industrial, continuous process manufacturing environments (Ethanol manufacturing experience preferred).
- 5 years of capital project management experience (Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred).
- 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Right to work in the U.S. without relying solely on student visas or third-party employer sponsorship.
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Proven leadership abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong project management skills, including managing large capital projects.
