Postdoctoral Fellow - Chemical Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher with expertise in microbiome studies, microfluidics, or/and Machine-Learning to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of microbial communities through innovative microfluidic technologies. Key Responsibilities: Designing and conducting experiments to study microbial communities using microfluidic platforms. Developing and optimizing microfluidic devices for high-throughput microbiome analysis. Analyzing complex datasets derived from microbiome studies and microfluidic experiments. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including microbiologists, engineers, and computational biologists. Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences. Mentoring and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in related projects. Contributing to the preparation of grant proposals and progress reports. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Microbiology, or Bioengineering, and related field. Extensive experience in microbiome research, including DNA sequencing, metagenomics, and bioinformatics. Proficiency in designing and fabricating microfluidic devices. Strong background in experimental design and data analysis. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven track record of publishing in high-impact scientific journals. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Skills: Experience with single-cell analysis and microbial culturing techniques. Familiarity with Machine-Learning and computational tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB. Knowledge of systems biology and integrative approaches to studying microbial communities. Experience in mentoring and teaching.
