Professor - Dentistry jobs in Colorado
Professor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Technical skills should include but are not limited to:
- Has previous experience working with an anesthesiologist
- Dental Prophylaxis, Probing and Charting (and dental digital radiographs a plus)
- Anesthesia experience: induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery
- Confident in setting up, running, and monitoring anesthesia
- Venipuncture and phlebotomy
- Administration of Medications PO, SQ, IM, IV
- Proficient in medical math
- Provide high-quality nursing care to pre-op and post-op patients
- Well-developed animal handling and restraint skills
- Work directly with owners from check-in to check out
- Superb communication skills with both clients and other staff
- Must thrive in a team environment
- Prepares the treatment area for procedures, including preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies
- Proper Use of Laboratory Tools for internal and external testing, such as PCV, BG, Snap Tests, PT/PTT, In-hospital CBC and Chemistries, Microscopic evaluations
