Professor - Dentistry jobs in Maryland
Professor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Responsibilities :
Maintain the dental office in a clean and orderly fashion.
Answer patients' questions about dental procedures and other general questions.
Help patients feel comfortable during appointments through conversation and by getting them to relax.
Prepare instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures before dentist arrives.
Assist dentist with procedures, such as applying sealants, fluoride treatments, and dental fillings.
Maintain medical records for each dental patient.
Check each patient's vital signs before appointment.
Assist dentist during surgery.
