Dental Assistant II (Pediatric Dentistry)

  • Durham Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is looking for a warm, personable, and motivated DA II to join our successful family-owned pediatric office located one mile from Southpoint Mall and I-40. We currently have full and part-time positions available.

    We pride ourselves on practicing compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based care. We are looking for an DA II with a friendly, positive attitude who is seeking a supportive environment in which to utilize their skills while also being open to learning and growing with our team.

    As a Dental Assistant II, responsibilities include:

    • Greet patients and parents with enthusiasm
    • Review oral health and medical histories
    • Perform coronal polishing, flossing and application of topical fluoride
    • Provide personalized oral hygiene instructions and dietary counseling to pediatric patients and parents
    • Assist dentists with pediatric restorative procedures
    • Provide thorough documentation following dental procedures
    • Present dental findings and treatment plan recommendations to patients and parents
    • Provide post-operative instructions to patients and parents after restorative procedures
    • Take digital X-rays and use the iTero scanner
    • Sterilize dental instruments and prepare tray setups
    • Manage office supplies and dental inventory
    • Maintain professionalism at all times

    To succeed in this role as a Dental Assistant II, you will need:

    • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant II (2 years minimum, preferably in pediatrics) In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA Training & Radiation Safety)
    • Hold a current CPR certification
    • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • A patient and friendly personality
    • Attention to detail

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
