Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.   • Job Responsibilities

    Currently teaches five sections of composition, literature and/or technical and professional communications in the Fall and Spring semesters, and other department courses as needed. Serves on college, school and department committees. Engages in professional development. Keeps office hours. Submits reports of instructional activities. Participates in collection of and analysis of data pertaining to student learning outcomes and competencies. Uses online platforms to enhance student learning. Assists with department and school student engagement initiatives.

    Minimum And Additional Requirements

    Master’s degree in English or a related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience and training (either via graduate study or professional development) in teaching composition, professional writing, and/or technical writing including 21st century literacies highly preferred. Experience teaching first-year composition or other first- or second- year writing courses in fully online environments highly preferred. Experience teaching dual-enrollment populations highly preferred. Demonstrated interest or experience in teaching diverse student populations in a two-year college setting highly preferred.
