Professor - Medical Ethics teaches courses in the discipline area of medical ethics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Medical Ethics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Medical Ethics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. The Division of Otolaryngology, Department of Surgery at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and the University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a General Otolaryngologist. Successful applicants will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the clinical scholar pathway, commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments.
Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont and eligible to work in the United States. In addition to a strong clinical background in Otolaryngology, the candidate should have a demonstrable interest in pursuing research or teaching in an academic division which supports an active residency training program. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Health Network. The primary clinical responsibilities for this position will be split between Central Vermont Medical Center and the University of Vermont Medical Center. These medical centers are located approximately 45 minutes apart with beautiful communities with excellent schools and an easy commute between the two hospitals. Loan repayment is available for eligible physicians.
