Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Position

    Assistant Professor of Nursing: The School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The person appointed to this position can teach across all programs within the School of Nursing. Primary duties to include: teaching responsibilities for didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. Effective teaching, research, creative activities, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must have a Masters of Science in Nursing and meet one of the BRN faculty approved areas (pediatrics, obstetrics, medical-surgical, psych-mental health, or geriatrics) for instruction, one year of instructional experience, one year of direct patient care within the last 5 years, and 6 months of leadership having oversight of faculty in a nursing program or nurses in a facility. The candidate must have a current and unobstructed California RN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Provider Certification, and satisfactorily complete the CSU background check.

    Required Qualifications

    In addition to the minimum experience, the candidate should posses managerial, organizational, and strong interpersonal communication skills. The candidate should have technological and computer skills sufficient to participate and direct classroom and virtual learning activities with IT support.

    Preferred Qualifications

    In addition to required qualifications, a Doctoral degree is preferred.

    Compensation

    Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated hiring range is $6,786 - $7,314 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year). As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

    We invite you to become a part of a challenging and fast growing nursing program which includes undergraduate BSN programs with a pre-licensure, an accelerated second bachelors, and an ADN-BSN track, and a graduate program with a focus on Education, Administration, and Family Nurse Practitioner nursing. In May 2017, we received the maximum reaccreditation for 10 years by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
