Professor - Psychology teaches courses in the discipline area of psychology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Psychology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Psychology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Current opportunities include teaching the following courses for the Fall 2024 semester (classes begin August 26, 2024):- General Psychology
- Developmental Psychology: Lifespan
- Social Psychology
- Senior Seminar
- Candidates must either have a Masters or Doctoral degree in Psychology or associated field (ABD acceptable)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle all situations in a pleasant and professional manner
- Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
