Scope of Position/Essential Functions:
The Social Services Director provides direction and oversight of the Social Service Department which serves Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. This position supervises departmental staff and interns, and the daily social service operations. The role involves developing, evaluating and reporting on social service programs as well as providing direct service to clients.
Alongside the Corps Officers, the Social Service Director will monitor program budgets and revenue, ensure timely reporting of grants, and collaborate with the Grant and Community Development Manager in sourcing new funding opportunities. At times, the Social Service Director will also be asked to network with community partners and outside organizations as The Salvation Army’s representative.
