Job Summary
The Unit Controls Project Manager will be responsible for leading the efforts of a cross-functional product development team to create new or enhanced HVAC controls products. This role will be responsible for ensuring that technical and business objectives are met through our product development process.
Performs complex activities relating to the design, testing, and evaluation of new and/or existing engineering products. Provides direction to engineers to ensure
that projects are completed effectively. Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with global management and business leaders to create project scope and objectives as well as risk assessment, which have a major impact on project cost, schedule, investment and technology.
• Direct involvement in project and product definition activities relating to marketing and/or technical requirements.
• Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments of project team members.
• Develop innovative concepts and approaches to solving team, technical or schedule problems.
• Utilize effective communication and facilitation skills both inside and outside the development team.
• Follow established new product development procedures and guidelines currently in effect to leverage shared organizational knowledge and experience.
• Participate in the development and use of project management procedures, guidelines and methods.
• Document project activities, issues, concerns and status to keep management informed and enable timely resolution of project problems.
• Create an environment for team member growth, cohesiveness, productivity, recognition, and accountability while successfully meeting project objectives.

Qualifications:
• BS or MS degree in Engineering discipline with additional training or short courses in management techniques and principles.
• 5 years experience in engineering product development.
• Experience leading or involvement in an embedded software project or enterprise software development project.
• Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.
• Reliable planner with good attention to detail.
• Strong leadership along with good verbal English, written English and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of HVAC Systems and Components.
• PMI certification (desired)
• Knowledge of DFSS techniques
Base pay for this position is $80,000 to $135,000
