The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) reports to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and provides strategic vision and leadership for the many facets of the undergraduate educational experience, including academic and co-curricular activities.
Working closely with the Provost, deans, department chairs, other administrators, faculty, and students, the VPUE develops and articulates components of the academic affairs divisional implementation plan grounded in Preeminence 2030: North Carolina A&T Blueprint.
These components include commitments to prepare students to be cross-disciplinary thinkers by engaging in innovative scholarship marked by critical and creative thinking, community and global engagement, cutting edge creative work and research experiences, entrepreneurial endeavors, excellent pre-professional endeavors, certification and licensure, overall well-being; as well as a sense of community.
The VPUE leads the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE), a unit comprising three Cadet Corps (Air Force ROTC, Army ROTC, and the Space Corps); Pre-professional Scholars Program; Office of Undergraduate Research; Title III Academic Excellence Enhancement; Office of Accessibility Resources and the Office of International Affairs.
The VPUE also supervises the liaison to two high schools operating on the campus of N.C. A&T — The STEM Early College and The A&T Four Middle College. The VPUE supports training and enrichment of department chairs to facilitate student success.
In recognition of the importance of a whole-student approach to the undergraduate experience, the Office of Undergraduate Education works hand-in-hand with other units and divisions to ensure the overall student experience is positive and transformational.
