Public Relations Manager develops and implements policies and procedures for the public relations department. Maintains favorable public image for employer or client by communicating programs, accomplishments, and/or points of view. Being a Public Relations Manager evaluates all forms of communications before release to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of message and authorizes release. Prepares and distributes news releases, fact sheets, scripts, etc. to media outlets. Additionally, Public Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Public Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Public Relations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Basic Function

    We are seeking a skilled Director of Public Relations to support our Superintendent in maintaining positive relationships with the community, staff and media outlets, while also providing administrative support. This person will play a crucial role in coordinating public events and handling administrative tasks with efficiency and professionalism.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement public relations strategies to promote the Superintendent’s initiatives and enhance the district’s reputation.
    • Serve as liaison between the Superintendent’s office and various stakeholders, including parents, staff, media and community members.
    • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to identify opportunities and address potential issues proactively.
    • Collaborate with curriculum and instruction teams to align with educational standards and meet the needs of our diverse student population.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging content for various communication channels, including press releases, social media, and website updates.
    • Assist with organizing events, such as board meetings, community forums, and school functions.
    • Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their instructional practices and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
    • Proven experience in public relations, curriculum development, or educational leadership.
    • And other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

    Qualifications

    • Ky Administrative Leadership certification with a minimum of 10 years successful teaching experience.
    • Strong communication, organizational and project management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Passion for education and a commitment to promoting student success and achievement in content areas.
    • Proven experience in public relations, curriculum development, or educational leadership.

    240 day contract.
