Join our team at Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) as our Public Relations Specialist. Located at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, you'll play a crucial role in collecting, preparing, and disseminating information through various media platforms. As part of the MCM Organization, you'll have the opportunity to engage with local governments, coordinate press conferences, and facilitate communication with special guests and celebrities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and produce presentations and press conferences
- Collaborate with local governments and the White House for race proclamations
- Manage communication with event starters, celebrities, and special guests
- Oversee the production of media guides and race programs
- Write and edit articles, press releases, and external communications
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports
- Develop long-term event promotion plans
- Coordinate media functions for MCM events
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts
- Assist in social media strategy and content creation
- Travel to MCM races, meetings, and expos as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Affairs, Marketing, or related field
- Three years of experience in marketing, public affairs, communications, or journalism
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer software and tools
- Valid State Driver's License
