Public School Teacher prepares lesson plans and instructs students in an assigned school. Develops and implements grade appropriate course work, activities, and assessments to meet the academic needs of children in a K-12 classroom setting. Being a Public School Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Public School Teacher participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require specific state-level teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Public School Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Job Summary:
Hancock Public School, a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School, has an opening for a full-time high school Science teacher beginning with the 2024-25 school year. Our District is currently seeking an exceptional and dynamic individual who is passionate about teaching, energetic, and willing to bring a renewed excitement to our science program. Candidates must be self-directed and possess the desire, drive, and creativity to develop our Science program into an extraordinary learning experience for our students. The ability to integrate technology into the curriculum is essential. In 2019, due to continued growth, our community overwhelmingly passed a bond and added another new addition to our current facility. This addition included a new state of the art science classroom and a new STEM lab. All licensure areas will be considered. Multiple licensures are beneficial. Individuals who have the ability to teach upper level physical science classes including Chemistry and individuals who have the licensure (or are willing to obtain the licensure) to teach College in the Schools/Dual Enrollment classes will be given priority.
