Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. The purpose of your role as the Director, Purchasing
As the Director, Purchasing, you will direct the purchasing function for Harris. Directs and oversees strategic planning and continuous improvement of purchasing processes for the company. Oversees purchasing of equipment and material ensuring cost and quality standards are met. Establishes policies and procedures for identifying, evaluating, selecting and negotiating with vendors.
Contributes to the bottom line of the organization by utilizing analytical, forecasting and negotiation skills to procure goods, materials, and equipment on favorable terms. Stay on top of lead times to assist with manufacturing and project performance, ensuring materials and equipment orders and inventories stay on track. In these ways, the director of purchasing positively impacts the company’s operations, profits, and ability to grow.
Oversees team of purchasing agents/buyers whose primary role is to improve project performance.
