Job Summary:

As the Director of Procurement for our food company, you will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement efforts to ensure the seamless flow of quality products into our supply chain. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, sales teams, and suppliers, managing procurement processes, optimizing inventory, and enhancing supplier performance. Key responsibilities include forecasting demand, sourcing, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-efficiency while upholding high-quality standards. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting and Supplier Coordination:

· Collaborate with sales teams to forecast demand and synchronize with domestic and international suppliers for timely deliveries.

· Maintain optimal inventory levels aligned with demand forecasts and manufacturing constraints.

Global Supply Planning:

· Develop comprehensive global supply plans based on sales forecasts, manufacturing capabilities, and strategic deployment objectives.

Sourcing Strategy:

· Create sourcing plans aligned with a dynamic network of suppliers, holding them accountable for on-time delivery and product quality.

Supplier Management:

· Establish and maintain operational relationships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to delivery and quality standards.

Operational Management:

· Oversee key procurement processes including purchase order placement, freight tracking, data analysis, and inventory management.

· Collaborate with inventory control to manage inventory levels effectively and prevent stockouts.

Process Improvement:

· Work with cross-functional teams to enhance procurement processes, capabilities, and cost-efficiency.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

· Negotiate prices, quantities, and long-term contracts based on market conditions and volume considerations.

· Manage yearly marketing programs, allowances, and promotions with suppliers.

Performance Metrics:

· Develop and utilize vendor performance metrics to evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.

Cost Reduction Initiatives:

· Identify, develop, and implement cost reduction projects to enhance profitability.

Issue Resolution and Claim Management:

· Address unforeseen issues with suppliers promptly and professionally.

· Oversee claim management with suppliers, coordinating resolution efficiently.

Merchandising and Sales Support:

· Provide product and pricing information to sales force and make recommendations regarding pricing structure based on volume and margin considerations.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.

· Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or related roles, preferably within the food industry.

· Fluency in Spanish preferred.

· Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

· Experience in demand forecasting, inventory management, and cost analysis.

· Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

· ISM or APICS certification is a plus.

Work Location: Onsite

Reporting: Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
