    About this position

    The Quality Assurance Coordinator is a member of the Quality Improvement Team responsible for the implementation of systems for planning, record-keeping, reporting, and monitoring of all aspects of the MARC Head Start program; establishing and monitoring systems to ensure that continuous quality improvement takes place as well as monitor direct service provider agencies to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for working in collaboration with MARC Head Start Data & Evaluation Coordinator, Quality Assurance Coordinator, and the Organizational Development Manager to implement a system of data review to track Head Start human resource (HR) requirements for Head Start Direct Service Provider sites.

    What you’ll do

    • Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the HSPPS related regulations and how to monitor and implement them.
    • Coordinate Head Start orientation for all Tier 1 and 2 direct service provider directors to ensure a clear understanding of MARC Head Start expectations.
    • Provide technical assistance in the development of monitoring plans and training plans for each direct service provider program, assuring that all aspects of the Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety HSPPS are addressed.
    • Complete a regular schedule of monitoring of each direct service provider program’s Human Resources practices in collaboration with the partnership staff.
    • Oversee the schedule and process for monitoring Environmental Health and Safety of direct service providers conducted by the MARC Quality Assurance Monitor. Communicate with direct service providers regarding the correction and follow up.
    • Monitor program Human Resources data and evaluate in conjunction with direct service provider directors.
    • Analyze ChildPlus reports and other available data to identify areas of progress, risk and noncompliance. Review data for accuracy and collaborate with grantee staff to address all areas of concern.
    • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of Human Resources data to be used in the agency-wide Program Information Report (PIR).
    • Provide support to the Organizational Development Manager in the development and implementation of recordkeeping and reporting procedures to track and monitor program compliance.
    • Use data from PIR along with other collected data to develop reports and reporting formats that are useful in program improvement planning.
    • Maintain current knowledge of ChildPlus, including updates and their impact on data collection. Facilitate the effective use and maintenance of the ChildPlus database for assigned areas of responsibility and provide technical assistance to direct service provider programs.
    • Work in collaboration with the Organizational Development Manager to ensure effective systems are in place for ongoing monitoring of Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety processes of the direct service providers.

    • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with internal staff and outside organizations to successfully present information, respond to general questions, and consult with others.

    Basic requirements

    • A bachelor’s degree in Early Education, Child Development, Social Services, Administration, or related field is required
    • The position requires minimum of three years’ experience in monitoring and reporting Head Start program outcomes and providing technical assistance or consultation services to programs serving children and families.

    Physical Demands

    • Occasional need to lift typical office items, including small furniture, some equipment, boxes, etc.
    • May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
    • Travel by car, bus, airplane or train may also be required associated with attendance at conferences, meetings and other duties carried out at distant locations in and out of state and in some cases where some overnight travel may be required.
    • Noise level in work environment may be moderate to loud.
    • Must be available, as requested, for a variety of evening and weekend meetings as well as social and community events.

    Salary and benefits

    Starting salary for this position is from $57,400- $59,000 per year, depending upon qualifications. MARC offers an attractive team-oriented work environment along with a competitive fringe benefit package. MARC offers employees the flexibility to work remotely for up to two days per work week.
