Quality Assurance Nurse evaluates the quality of patient care. Monitors compliance with current laws, process improvements, and implementation of clinical best practices. Being a Quality Assurance Nurse reviews and analyzes customer complaints. May need to help train staff on new or improved clinical practices. Additionally, Quality Assurance Nurse requires an associate's degree/bachelor's degree and is licensed to practice nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous Quality Assurance / Wound / Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring high standards of quality in all processes.
Job Duties:
-Completes weekly rounds on all patients with any skin issues (wounds, skin tears, surgical, clinical).
- Completes assessments and measurements of all skin issues.
- Round at least weekly, preferably with wound provider to ensure continuity and proper oversight.
- Collects any/all new skin assessments to ensure appropriate physician orders/treatments/and care plan interventions are initiated.
- Complete wound log with general information related to patients and status of wounds/skin issues.
- Complete comprehensive Risk management report for all patients with wounds and/or skin issues per Risk Management Committee guidelines.
-Participate in facility Risk Management Committee weekly and QA processes as needed.
-Ensures Braden assessment is completed timely with appropriate preventative interventions put in place.
-Complete QA reports as required monthly.
-Completes infection control data as needed.
-Completes education for clinical staff related to infection control, processes and clinical standards with ADON and DON as needed.
-Participates in clinical on-call rotation.
-Serves as a credentialed NHSN user and submits NHSN data timely as needed.
* Reports directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing.
REQUIREMENTS: must have unencumbered LPN or RN license in Missouri.
PREFER: wound care and clinical leadership experience.
