Being a Quality Control Supervisor recommends changes in specifications of materials, parts, and products based on inspection results. May formulate and revise quality control policies and procedures. Additionally, Quality Control Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. 12th April, 2024 Our client, a leading PVC manufacturer, is seeking a dedicated Quality Control/Quality Assurance Supervisor to join their team in Burlington, NJ. In this role, you'll oversee a team of Quality Control Technicians, ensuring that all products meet or exceed the company's quality standards. This includes monitoring inspection and testing activities, reviewing material Certificates of Analysis (COA), preparing outgoing product COA, and making real-time color corrections to meet customer specifications. You'll also ensure accurate production formulation, investigate quality-related concerns, and maintain departmental databases for process analysis and improvement. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in a Chemical or Plastics manufacturing environment, with experience working with a union considered a plus. Your strong knowledge of quality control/quality assurance procedures, legal standards, and production formulation will be key. Additionally, your leadership, communication, and analytical skills are crucial for success in this role! This role also involves a monthly rotating schedule between day and night shifts. Responsibilities Supervise Quality Control Laboratory by overseeing inspection and testing activities of Quality Control Technicians to maintain control over materials, facilities, and products. Review incoming material Certificates of Analysis (COA). Prepare outgoing product COA to meet customer requirements for timing, format, and content. Make real-time color corrections to ensure final products meet color requirements from targeted customers. Monitor overtime expenses and take necessary actions to reduce spending. Prepare weekly overtime report. Check production formulation cards and issue Testing Requirement sheets for upcoming products. Investigate internal and external quality concerns and non-conforming issues. Plan and implement corrective and preventive actions with assistance from Quality and other departments. Verify effectiveness of proposed actions. Maintain Quality Department databases. Analyze process data using statistical techniques to ensure processes and products conform to standards. Prepare monthly quality reports and lead Quality Improvement Meetings. Maintain valid calibration of lab equipment according to quality procedures. Assist in the development of ISO documents. Coordinate and ensure internal and external audits are completed. Qualifications 4 years of experience in manufacturing, with a background in a PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) compounding environment considered a plus. Must have 1 years of supervisory experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance. Must be able to work both day/evening shifts (monthly rotation ) Experience in a union environment is a plus. Knowledge of quality control/assurance procedures and legal standards. Strong math, data analysis, and statistical skills. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and time management skills. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. Day Shift : 8am
- 5pm; and 9pm
- 5am or 11pm
