The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to ensuring that students make successful progress toward degree and graduation by providing the best possible service to all members of the diverse GW community.

The office maintains academic records from enrollment through graduation and offers a wide range of services in the areas of classroom scheduling, enrollment verification, registration, requirements tracking, transcripts, and degree conferral.

We support the university’s mission to promote lifelong learning by administering the various academic policies of the university and providing support to students, faculty, administrators, and alumni.

Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Student Support Services, the Assistant Registrar, Transfer Credit is responsible for the following :

Supervising and coordinating the work of the transfer credit team to include providing leadership, determining work priorities, and scheduling.

and assigning work, training, and overseeing the completion of work

• Serving on the Office of the Registrar Management Team which includes assisting in the recommendation, development, and implementation of policies of procedures for the office.
• Collaborating with leadership within the schools, including but not limited to, associate deans, advisors, and program directors to troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to transfer credit and student academic records.
• Providing incoming and continuing students with accurate information about transfer credit evaluation policies and procedures
• Evaluating, assessing, and processing dual enrollment or other college credit prior to enrollment.
• Reviewing and entering exam credit including AP, IB, and A-Level exams.
• Reviewing and analyzing official coursework received from U.S. Colleges and Universities as well as International Institutions based on course content and determines the transferability of coursework credit.
• Serving as the primary contact to assist with special admissions programs and degree program partnerships with other institutions regarding the transferability of courses.
• Cross-training with other units within the Registrar’s Office to assist when needed. The incumbent may perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

The position is based at GW’s Virginia Science & Technology campus in Ashburn, VA but may require travel to the Foggy Bottom campus located in Washington, DC.

Minimum Qualifications :

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, to include 1 year of supervisory experience.

Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
