Rehabilitation Director directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department. Sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other therapies. Being a Rehabilitation Director develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to staffing and the budget for the department. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director monitors treatment and progress of patients. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Rehabilitation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Rehabilitation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Director of Rehabilitation, it is your responsibility to organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Rehabilitation Service Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the community. The Director of Rehabilitation will seek to return the resident to the optimal physical function and facilitate achievement of resident, Physician, and therapy goals. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Rehabilitation Policies and Procedures.
