Reinsurance Specialist jobs in Kentucky
Reinsurance Specialist performs routine reinsurance administrative duties, such as maintaining records, processing and verifying new business. Organizes the preparation of monthly and annual reports and ensures reinsurance information has been recorded accurately. Being a Reinsurance Specialist performs reconciliation of premium billing statements and DAC tax calculations and maintenance of various reinsurance operations. Researches and resolves the more complex cases and provides guidance to others. Additionally, Reinsurance Specialist may review work performed by others and train new staff. Works towards industry designations (e.g., FLMI, ARA, ACS, etc.). Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Reinsurance Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. What We Are Seeking
We have assignments available to help our Insurance Carrier clients in Senior Reinsurance Accountant positions. Responsibilities may include:- Handle reinsurance accounting responsibilities for both Facultative and Treaty contracts.
- Review, analyze and process assumed premium and loss transactions.
- Review reporting and settlement in conjunction with the terms of the contract.
- Apply cash and manage recoverables.
- Handle all inquiries for assigned accounts.
- Communicate with Claims and Underwriting departments to ensure accurate reporting of data.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with reading & interpreting contracts required.
- Treaty knowledge is a must but willing to teach Facultative element.
- 25 years of full-time work experience
- 10 most current years of Property & Casualty (P&C) carrier accounting operations experience with an emphasis in reinsurance accounting
- Health insurance based on eligibility.
