What You’ll Do- Responsible for developing profitable new client relationships by leveraging centers of influence, existing clients & referral sources
- Develop and execute business development plan to achieve loan & deposit, referrals, call planning/prospecting and fee income goals
- Target privately held businesses with revenues from $5 million - $15 million
- Work closely with internal product partners (Treasury Management, Wintrust Wealth) to acquire new relationships and deepen existing relationships
- Build strong client relationships to enhance the trusted advisor role
- Take ownership of credit sheet content and quality by working closely with credit analysts on their successful and timely completion
- Take part in bank events during and after hours
- Responsible for understanding the impact of lending on the bank’s CRA goals
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work history
- Strong relationship management and business development skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid understanding of general credit and risk principles, mitigates, and banking policies/procedures; formal bank credit training is preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial banking experience, at least 5 years of business development experience in business banking/commercial lending environment
- Prior experience managing a diverse portfolio and complex commercial relationships within the business banking or middle market space
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability establishing client relationships and working within a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow
