Additionally, Religious Educator assesses and documents students' progress. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an associate pastor or pastor. The Religious Educator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Religious Educator typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Job Summary
The Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) is a practicing Catholic who designs, develops, and evaluates a vibrant 21st century learning environment which supports the health, safety, and spirit of our students, parents and catechists. This learning environment educates lifelong learners who transform the world in light of their understanding of the Gospel. The CRE is available for staff meetings and loves working with, and as part of, a team.
Job Responsibilities
Gives priority to the development of the faith life of individuals.- Leads, fosters, and involves the community in prayer and liturgy.
- Emphasizes school community-wide service opportunities which promote empathy and preferential treatment for the poor.
- Fosters relationships between students, catechists, and parents in an atmosphere of Christian love.
Job Requirements- Preference is for a candidate to have a certificate as a Coordinator of Religious Education or a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Theology/Religious Education or a related Educational field from a Catholic Institution of higher education.
- Familiarity with Whole Family Catechesis is preferred.
- Willing to work flexible hours throughout the week and weekend to serve parishioners and their children.
- Commitment to a Catholic philosophy of education.

- Ability to communicate with parents, students, catechists, and community leaders professionally and effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work alongside Pastor as well as recognize and function as a member of a team.
