Religious Education Coordinator – $18.00-$22.00p/h – McConnell, KS (AFB)

The Role

Are you experienced in teaching or coordinating Religious Education in a Catholic Community? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

As the Religious Education Coordinator (Catholic Community) you will work with the contract priest and Wing Chaplain to support religious education at McConnell Chapel. This role involves organizing and managing the entire Religious Education Program for preschool through adults.

This is a part-time, contract 1099 vacancy.

Contract= 5yrs

10 hours of work each week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the contract priest and Wing Chaplain as the resource person, advisor, and coordinator for religious education.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the religious education program.
• Attend Parish Advisory Council meetings.
• Submit annual calendar of events and budget proposal for RE programs.
• Implement parish Sacramental programs under the guidance of the contract priest.
• Conduct regular meetings for consultation, support, and training of teachers and assistants.
• Recruit, train, and track volunteers’ hours.
• Implement registration policies and procedures.
• Organize special activities such as All Saints celebrations, Christmas, and Easter events.
• Maintain accurate records related to registration, attendance, and student evaluations.

The Person

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a certified catechist of the Archdiocese for Military Services (AMS) or have 3-5 years of teaching experience in Religious Education.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of religious teachings, rites, ceremonies, and traditions.
• Possess the educational and administrative skills to manage the entire Religious Education Program.
• Be able to work within the pluralistic environment of the Air Force Chaplain Corps.
• Undergo a successful background check and complete current Safe Environment training.
