Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Rental Technician, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Supervision Works under the immediate direction of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Special Education Teacher. Works under the administrative direction of the Director of Pupil Services, Building Principal and Assistant Principal to accomplish the tasks and duties assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential duties or responsibilities listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Setting up assistive technology for student use Participating in training/consultation Reinforcing previously taught concepts in a small group setting Communicating with liaison regarding progress of students Documenting student progress both academically and behaviorally Reinforcing instruction of general education under the direction of a Special Education Teacher Accompanying students to General Education classroom and providing modifications to instruction Ensuring safety of students as they use adaptive equipment Assisting with self-help skills, including but not limited to clothing, feeding, toileting Supporting students at job sites and/or during a variety of community trips Participating in student progress meetings when requested, and provide input for progress reports and objectives; inform appropriate staff of program changes and updates Completing parent communication logs and district documents as required Participating in required professional development, such as restraint training, CPR/First Aid certification, and staff meetings and extended day sessions Demonstrating flexibility when daily schedules change Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs and modifications, including but not limited to augmentative communication devices, task analysis, and discrete trial materials Maintaining students’ program books, including but not limited to organizing assessments, documenting programmatic changes, and conducting reinforcement assessments Implementing instructional and behavioral programs as designed by the BCBA Using ABA procedures to conduct and amend student programs and record appropriate data in pull-out and inclusion settings. This includes, but is not limited to, discrete trials, social stories, and social skills training Modeling ABA techniques and provide support for other staff as requested by the BCBA Conducting data collection at all stages of skill acquisition Maintains student specific materials, reinforcers, and programming in a neat and orderly manner Completing other duties that are designated by the Lead Teacher and/or BCBA, Building Principal or Director of Pupil Services Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Preferred Education and Experience Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification Training Attendance and participation in professional development days Participation and completion of De-escalation and Physical Restraint Certification Participation and completion of online training modules as assigned, Conflict of Interest Law and data collection Language Skills To read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Behavior Support Plans (BSP), Individualized Education Programs (IEP), and procedural manuals Mathematical Skills To add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Reasoning Skills To apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form To deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability To multi-task and prioritize To communicate effectively, orally and in writing To maintain detailed and accurate data collection To use a technology devices such as a desk top/lap top computer and/or tablet To maintain highly confidential information To establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students, their families, colleagues and supervisors Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
