Research and Development Supervisor supervises activities in the research and development department. Oversees personnel who utilize established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data and write technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Being a Research and Development Supervisor ensures proper procedure, and helps devise new development techniques. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Research and Development Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     The Professional Development Supervisor is responsible for ensuring overall service quality, client satisfaction, and program goal attainment of PD programs in Mississippi schools. Overseeing a team of PD Coaches, this individual is responsible for managing and developing the coaching team while maintaining their own portfolio of coaching assignments.
    How you’ll be there for educators and instructional coaches:
    Be their career guide. Be their collaborator. Be their consultant.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Serve as the reporting manager for approximately 25 PD Coaches
    • Act as the face of Catapult Learning for up to 75 schools across Mississippi
    • Communicate regularly with the Mississippi Project Team on implementation of programs across regions
    • Coordinate with the PD Ops team to ensure all deliverables are completed within deadlines outlined by the State.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with direct reports
      • This role requires car travel across the state on a frequent basis
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Individual Coaching Responsibilities:
    • Provide group and individual instructional coaching
    • Help design and conduct professional development meetings and/or workshops
    • Serve as a thought partner with school leaders and administrators alongside site based coaching teams
    • Use teacher-specific goals to guide coaching strategy and gauge coaching effectiveness
    • Analyze, interpret and discuss test data as it relates to teacher development goals
    • Provide reporting documentation of services delivered, as required

    What we’ll need from you:
    • Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred)
    • Teaching Certification preferred
    • 4 years of work experience teaching in a K-12 setting
    • Record of result in effectively coaching teachers
    • Excellent communication skills, particularly with school leaders
    • Experience managing and developing a team
    • Experience designing and delivering professional development for adults
    • Experience working in blended learning classrooms is a plus
    • Operations experience is a plus
