 Duties and Responsibilities

1. Expected to focus on research in health disparity-related research and collaborate with the UHCC and external faculty. (70% effort)
2. Pursue cancer-related NIH funding to support his/her research program. 
3. Perform scholarly activities as assigned.
4. Support and perform clinical duties within the Radiation Oncology and Oncology group in one of the HI Healthcare systems (30% effort). 
5. Assistance with the coordination of radiation oncology-related clinical trials for the Hawaii Cancer Consortium network and Early Phase Clinical Research Center. Purse funding for investigator-initiated clinical trials. 
6. Participation in UH Cancer Center committees, seminars, and meetings. 
7. Instructional activities related to graduate students and post-doctoral trainees as appropriate. 
8. Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students (PhD or MS).
9. Pursue collaborative research opportunities in areas where UH research is especially advantageous and competitive for national peer-reviewed funding. 
10. Serve as a role model faculty within the UH Cancer Center, the UH M?noa, and in the national and international research, academic, and/or medical communities.

1. M.D. degree or other generally recognized equivalent medical degree from a medical school of recognized standing. 
2. Three (3) to Four (4) years of experience as a postdoctoral fellow or equivalent in the related field. 
3. Able to get licensure in Hawaii. 
4. Board certification or board eligible in Radiation Oncology.
5. Demonstrated ability to teach and provide patient care when appropriate. 
6. Demonstrated ability to generate independent research reports, publications, and clinical trials. 
7. Demonstrated efficient and productive communication.
8. Ability to interact effectively with students and/or assistants when appropriate.
