The Resident Automation Technician I supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improving the site’s performance through troubleshooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer sites, the Resident Automation Technician I must represent the TGW image and ensure a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.
What You’ll Be Handling- Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
- Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
- Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment on-site, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
- Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
- Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
- High school diploma required. Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems preferred.
- Familiarity with HMI (human machine interface) and/or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition interface) experience preferred.
- Experience with interpretation of engineering drawings for use in diagnostics preferred.
- Profibus and Profinet experience preferred.
