Restaurant Greeter is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and escorting guests to tables. Monitors guests needs and the workflow of the restaurant and seats customers accordingly. Being a Restaurant Greeter opens and closes sections with the increase or decrease in the volume of guests. Updates the reservation book and takes advance reservations. Additionally, Restaurant Greeter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Restaurant Greeter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Description
Assist guests in making reservations as they call or arrive at the restaurant utilizing Open Table reservation system.
Assist servers in making table assignments for guests based on reservation size, time, and restaurant availability according to Open Table.
Answer questions regarding restaurant hours of operation, menu items, and assist guests with any other requests as needed.
Seat guests correctly at assigned able and provide them with necessary supplies such as menus, silverware, high chairs, etc.
Answer incoming telephone calls within 3 rings in a friendly and professional manner.
Be able to multi-task between assisting guests as they arrive, answering the telephone, and assisting coworkers.
Effectively organize and utilize Open Table's reservation wait sheet.
Operate the electronic pager system according to the wait sheet and table availability.
Learn each server's name and corresponding section each shift and effectively rotate seating based on table availability.
Ability to utilize restaurant systems to predict and accurately quote wait times to guests.
Perform restroom checks to ensure they are clean and adequately stocked.
Collect and clean each menu as well as clean and restock the greeter work stations.
Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding attendance.
Requirements

Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations and in a fast paced environment.
Safety - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety as well as safely operate and handle all required equipment, appliances, and tools. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
Communication - Ability to communicate by speaking, effectively and clearly with guests, coworkers, and management. Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
Response to Direction - Receive and follow directions from supervisors; follow direction of computer generated tickets.
Teamwork Abilities - Ability to work together with a team in a positive manner to achieve a common goal.
Friendly - Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards others.
Neat and Well Groomed.
Must be able to do the following constantly: stand, walk, and lift/carry 11-20 lbs.
Must be able to do the following frequently: use hands/fingers, reach outward, climb (stairs), bend, and push/pull 10-25 lbs.
